Our Story
Founded in Madeira in 2021 by Anastasia Sokolova and Alexei Sokolov, Sokolova Events is a brand for couples, shaped by more than twenty years of experience in event planning and photography. It brings together two closely connected ways of celebrating love: creating an occasion and preserving the feelings it holds.
Our story began with photography. Working with couples against the landscapes of Madeira, we came to understand how much a photograph can carry: anticipation, tenderness, a quiet gesture or the joy of a new beginning. Over time, we wanted to shape the moments around those photographs, giving each couple the freedom to experience them fully.
That idea grew into Sokolova Events. Today, we plan marriage proposals, intimate weddings, elopements, honeymoons and romantic picnics, alongside photography experiences for couples. Planning, styling and photography come together as one considered experience, with each element shaped around the people at its centre.
Madeira remains our home and our inspiration. Its coastline, mountains, gardens and changing light influence the places we choose and the atmosphere we create. We look for settings that feel right for the occasion, allowing the character of the island to become part of each couple's story.
Our approach is personal. Your comfort and privacy guide the plans we make for you.
